Jean Houston, Ph.D.

Primary Teacher

Jean Houston is a beloved teacher, author of over 36 books, past consultant for the United Nations and advisor to leaders and communities around the world. For decades she has studied human development, social systems, quantum physics, world religions, philosophy, anthropology, human behavior and futurist studies.

She was driven by the belief that each person contains unexplored possibilities that can enhance their own lives and contribute to social transformation. She originated the concept of Social Artistry and taught the โ€œartโ€ of creating a more evolved society from schools to government. She is currently writing and teaching on the future and our roles and responsibilities in manifesting it.

Peggy Rubin

Co-teacher (August and October Classes)

Peggy Rubin directs the Center for Sacred Theater in Ashland, Oregon. She draws on her experience as a classical Shakespearean actor and her personal studies to lead workshops in the US and abroad. Peggy is the author of a prize-winning book, โ€œTo Be and How to Beโ€. Since 1985, she is the principal teaching associate of Jean Houston in their Social Artistry programs, virtual teaching courses, Salons, workshops and international and multicultural work. Peggy is soon to publish a new book โ€œOn the Path of Joy. Her success as a brilliant teacher is due to her depth of knowledge and enormous warmth and empowering presence.

Constance Buffalo

Co-teacher (September Class)

Constance Buffalo has been Jean Houston's business partner for 21 years. She has had many careers as a Television Producer, Computer Designer, Adult Learning Specialist, Interactive Video Producer, International Telecommunications Consultant and CEO of a Chemical and Biological warfare Decontamination Company. She now devotes her time to teaching, counseling, sharing her Native American heritage, and cherishing her children.
